Interview with Nan D Arnold author of MERRY ACRES WIDOWS WALTZ

Disclaimer: By posting this interview I am in no way endorsing any of the authors work but rather simply giving a forum so that we as readers can get to know them and the authors can promote their stories.

DLC: Let me introduce everyone to Nan D Arnold author of the up coming novel Merry Acres Widows Waltz. Welcome Nan and thank you for taking the time to do this interview with me. As always, let's start off with you sharing a little bit about yourself.

NDA: Hi, all, I hail from Georgia and am adjusting to time off from the nine to five life in order to write full time... and adjusting to a retired husband, three cats, and the writing biz.

DLC: That's a lot of adjusting. lol Please share about your up coming book.

NDA: MERRY ACRES WIDOWS WALTZ is a mystery that channels my inner Kathleen Turner in a dark mood. Lord willin’ it comes out in early 2011 in print format. Check my website (http:/http://www.nandarnold.com/) for publisher and how and where to buy.

DLC: What inspired you to be a writer or have you always had a passion for writing?

NDA: I'd love to say, "yes, I've written from the womb," but nope, didn't even keep a diary, too busy climbin' trees, playing with the boys, and reading. My varied career has been in the insurance field and petrochemical industry so my left brain held sway until recently.

DLC: What advice would you give to other authors or aspiring authors?

NDA: I will pray for you. It’s not for the faint of heart or lean of pocketbook.

DLC: What source or sources do you draw from when creating a new story?

NDA: Merry Acres grew from a fantasy about what to do with a hubby under foot all day. I bought my husband a rocker as a joke gift following his retirement. Turns out the joke was on me. He loves it so much, can’t pry him out, until lunch time and dinner time. You boomer babes out there know the drill, don’t you? Only fishing he does is in the refrigerator. But he’s fab-u-lous otherwise. Opens jars, kills roaches with a single swipe. Buys the groceries, man, do we get the freshest fruit and veggies, or what? And, he’s still a charmer when he wants to be.

DLC: What was your greatest challenge personally when writing your current story?

NDA: Time to write it and all the time required to promote. And regrets writers have no say on covers. The one here is likely subject to change. Insert tear drop here. But I’ll have fab-u-lous bookmarks. Join my newsletter at my website and I’ll send you one. Specify if you want a signed one. Oh, and I have 2011 wallet calendars on order, too. Any who join my newsletter in January will get one of those.

DLC: Why did you choose to write a mystery?

NDA: I've written women's fiction and wanted to try a mystery.

DLC: Do you have any favorite authors?

NDA: Carl Hiaasen and Jen Lancaster to name but a very few.

DLC: Are you working on a book now and if so tell us a little bit about it?

NDA: Tall, Dark & Handy. Three arsons, one small southern town, somebody's gonna get burned.

DLC: Where can people go to get more information about you and your book?

NDA: http://www.nandarnold.com/  Please, note, working on a blog but it's under construction—way cool, it will serialize short stories taken from my edgy side, very little humor, lots of angst...,will call it Short Shorts and Nan D Briefs, thinking cutoffs for motif... and I’m (naturally) on Facebook as Nan D Arnold.

DLC: Thank you Nan for taking the time to share with us today. I pray you have great success.

Sincerely,
Daniel L Carter

Are you a book reviewer? Do you like young adult Fantasy/Paranormal stories with a bit of Sci-fi? If you are interested and have a Kindle or e-reader please read on...

An explosion shatters the night sky….

Smoke and flames erupt over the city of Chicago. FBI Agent Nick Catlin watches helplessly as their only lead straps on a glider and leaps off a high rooftop, soaring toward Lake Michigan. They’ve lost him, again. The crime scenes always fit the same pattern—five babies are among the casualties. Fourteen months later, though, in New York, no infant bodies are found. Nick’s gut tells him the killer was somehow interrupted in his work and that he won’t stop until he tracks down those children and finishes what he started.

Oklahoma rancher Leigh Barrus is barely making ends meet when his estranged niece, Janet, shows up at his ranch with five babies in tow. The terrifying tale she tells him about genetic experiments is only the beginning of the shocking truths….

A gripping fantasy/paranormal thriller

with a twist of sci-fi for all ages
